MONEY

All I have ever heard about money from people is that it is a necessary evil. Its not good, but you cant make without it. They will speak of idiotic things, perpetuating irrevocable arguments, just to say that money is basically bad. They portray poor people as pure and virtuous, and rich people as heartless blood suckers. Societal perceptions are carried forward by masses; the perception pulling down the money makers has been perpetuated by the non-achievers who hate themselves. But everyone knows the truth, and they're not strong enough to admit it. They try to shy away from their inability to make money by damning those who can make it. They prefer to damn money and live in their own mirage....

They say money is not important.
I say it is the most important thing in the world. Your chances of meaningful survival don’t stand a chance in the absence of money.

They say money is not everything.
I say money is almost everything. Money is like a sixth sense - and you can't make use of the other five without it. One of the most ridiculous arguments I've heard, "What if you are permanently crippled, with both hands and both legs severed. Can money prevent that?" They speak as if the loss which money can’t prevent won’t occur if you don’t have money. Pure 100% Bullshit.

They say money is evil.
People have forgotten that there is nothing pure than hard earned honest money. Money is not evil. The actions which people take to make money make it evil. That creates BAD money. As Billy Graham said, “If a person gets his attitude toward money straight, it will help straighten out almost every other area in his life.”

They say money brings trouble and unhappiness.
I say money prevents unhappiness and brings pleasure. The problems associated with spending BAD money bring troubles and problems. As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.”

They say money corrupts people.
I say money relieves people of corruption and pushes them towards a peaceful, honest and virtuous life. People get corrupted by the power they feel is they have money. This power is the rotten form of the self assurance that money brings.

They say money kills one's emotions.
Really? I thought about it. But how do you feel when you see your bank statement? Isn't the sight of financial backup emotional? Doesn't it mirror your capability, your knowledge, your worth? Don't you feel an emotion when you spend money; to fulfill your daily needs, to provide for your family, to prevent a catastrophe in someone's life? It is the greatest emotion one could feel.

They say you'll become a slave of the greenback.
I say they become slaves of their own greed. This happens when people perceive money as their goal. Money is a by product of a higher goal, not the goal in itself.

They say money makes you blind to the things worth living for.
I say money gives you rightful access to things and facilities which make life worth living for. As Henry Ford said, “If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.”

It is the greatest virtue to make money. It is the most moral and noble act. Create wealth. Create value. That, is the essence of life.

For the lack of a good word, greed is good

Well said dude, Money may not me everything but definitely its many a thing. At-least it can satisfy materialistic need if you have ample. Virtuoso is one who stacks a lot with any misdeed, if Bill-Gates is sometimes regarded as good its only after he spent $s amounting around 15 billion. Its not money which conquer one’s mind to be evil, it’s the evil in mind which battles against the good in our head to fetch more money. We are human, body controls our action except we ourself.

Opps last line was supposed to read as "We are human, nobody controls our action except we ourself" :(

Well said but there are some loop hole man that doesn't fit some of your critereas. For the phrase "They say money corrupts people", you have qouted like People get corrupted by the power they feel is they have money but there is also another face of it which tells like in order to make money some people Choose curropt path for fullfilling there needs.
People do become blind for the things that are worth living for. In the urge of making money people loose some of the precious moments, best time with there loving ones that do hold some value.

but again you have described it in a beautifull manner like these all are not because of money rather this is because of their insatiable greed. which is again take birth due to MONEY.

Mayank, Greed isn't caused by money, but a person enters a viscious cycle when he makes money making his goal .... that constitutes the worst form of greed. Thats when a person acquires the capacity to act against moral values to make money ....

Money- a materialistic thing or a thing which brings a lot of it..You really can swing the pendulum the way you like. Your blog praises it against all the odds...Excellent effort I must say but I fear differ from your views...
For me one line says it all---
Its a slow and sweet poison which kills you for sure, the longevity of ur life may vary based on the extent to which surrender to the whims of the daemon of money

Loosing life here doesnt point to sleeping to ones grave but giving up everything else which give true meaning to ones life...

If we talk as a realist, yeah you are almost correct but if we talk as an idealist, you are almost wrong...
We are talking with respect to 'our' lifestyle and things 'we' want to do. For someone else, there may be something else they are looking for; may be name & fame, may be something worth that keeps them alive even after their death. Money is just a means; it's not a necessary need.
But for me, a greedy human being, I still need some more money :P

sorry for replying you so late..but u know the reasons..THE comments goes as follows...see i have realised one thing spending my 1 resourceful years (huh..) in this bullshit professional world..everyone has his or her opinion and u cannot make a universal fact out of an opinion..for a person begging for the food at redlights..money is everything.but for people like us who have to decide whether we should go for signature or teacher's money is not such a big deal..its easy to give fundas when u r drivin your car and introspecting the lyrics of Stairway to heaven..but life is not so smooth bro..the only gyaan i want to add is...................do whatever you want (till you can)but never let that situation came when you have to justify to ur innerself for any act of urs..
One quote from my side......we should not forget Morality, after all its one letter short of Mortality

This will be a collective reply to several comments by my friends above:

1. Amit, you call money a "slow and sweet poison"....very true, considering the state of quite a few people around us. But as I said, this starts to happen only when one forgets that money is not the end in itself, it provides us with options which further help us in achieving our goals. We loose out life and its moments only when we are enslaved by the power and greed that lurks around money

2. Shashi, true that I've written everything keeping in view people like myself. We have opportunities and options. So we can ponder over these things. Perspectives change when circumstances change. Maybe if anything such happens in future, I'll write as per it, but till then, this is what I feel.

3. Gupta ,same as I wrote above to Ladha, I'm NOT making a universal fact, just putting MY point of view. And I'm in a habit of justifying my actions to myself...it makes taking decisions tough, but prevents monstrous contradictions in future.
Thanks for the beaiutiful quote

4. Thanks Parag for your all out praise

5. And Soumen, your comment has got me thinking on another blog along different lines. Hope it materialises.

6. Arpan, earn more and spend more is a viscious cycle. But it does feel good for a while. Everyone goes through it once, theres no other way to learn.
